The Bat Advocacy and Tracking Society began with the 2023 Fall Bat Week. A group of students who were part of the initial cohort founded the club to continue our efforts to conserve bats and educate the public about them. We have held a Bat Night every semester since the first Fall Bat Week. We became an official CPP club in Spring 2025.

Our ongoing projects include hosting Bat Nights, a collaboration with the Natural History Museum of LA, and installing and monitoring Bat Boxes at the Lyle Center.

Our first ever Fall Bat Week, a week of education, bat box building, and bat capture led by Dr. Rachel Blakey and Dr. Joy O'Keefe culminated in Fall Bat Night, a public outreach event at the BioTrek Garden for participants to share what they had learned.
